Norway International Dance Championships and Norway International Christmas Dance Festival return in 2026. We look forward to welcoming you back to Oslo.

Oslo, Norway – The Norwegian Dance Federation is proud to announce the return of two of Norway’s most prestigious international DanceSport events in 2026: the Norway International Dance Championships and the Norway International Christmas Dance Festival.
Following approval of a new three-year international strategy by the Federation’s Board, the events will once again place Norway firmly on the global DanceSport map, in close cooperation with the World DanceSport Federation (WDSF) and Nordic partners.
The Norway International Dance Championships will take place in April 2026, bringing world-class competition to Oslo with WDSF World Open events in both Standard and Latin, alongside strong international and Nordic categories for couples and solo dancers across age groups.Later in the year, the Norway International Christmas Dance Festival returns in December 2026, offering a festive yet elite international arena that combines top-level sport, tradition and audience appeal.
Together, the two events form the cornerstone of Norway’s renewed international competition platform and will be delivered alongside Nordic initiatives such as the Nordic DanceSport League and the Nordic Championships, creating a unique ecosystem for development, participation and excellence.
A clear commitment to international DanceSport
President of the Norwegian Dance Federation, Trine Dehli Cleve, welcomes the return of the events:
“The return of Norway International Dance Championships and the Norway International Christmas Dance Festival marks an important milestone for Norwegian DanceSport. These events are about more than competition – they are about visibility, inspiration and long-term development. We are proud to once again welcome the international DanceSport community to Norway and to invest in events that unite athletes, clubs and audiences across borders.”
The 2026 events are part of a broader vision to rebuild and strengthen Norway’s position as a respected and innovative host nation for international DanceSport, while ensuring sustainable organisation, professional delivery and strong collaboration across the Nordic region.
Further details regarding venues, schedules and official WDSF registrations will be announced in the coming months.
