Oslo/Gardermoen, Norway — The historic Norway International Christmas Dance Festival will return to Norway on 5–6 December 2026, bringing back one of the country’s most atmospheric international DanceSport events for the first time since 2019.

Under the campaign title “The Magic Returns”, the festival will combine world-class Standard and Latin dancing, Nordic DanceSport community spirit, festive hospitality and a premium pre-Christmas experience at Thon Hotel Oslo Airport.

Last organised in 2019, the Christmas Dance Festival paused following the global pandemic. In 2026, the event returns with renewed energy and ambition, welcoming dancers, spectators, families, clubs, officials, sponsors and international guests to a full weekend of competition, celebration and Christmas atmosphere.

The festival is designed to offer more than a traditional competition weekend. With the competition arena, hotel accommodation, dining, hospitality and social programme all located under one roof, the event creates a complete pre-Christmas DanceSport experience for both participants and audiences.

For dancers, the Norway International Christmas Dance Festival offers an international stage on which to compete, develop and perform in a professionally delivered environment. Couples and solo athletes from Norway, the Nordic region, across Europe and beyond are expected to take part in a weekend that celebrates both elite performance and the wider DanceSport community.

For spectators, the festival offers a rare opportunity to experience the energy, elegance and drama of international DanceSport live. From the grace of Waltz and Slow Foxtrot to the fire of Cha-Cha-Cha and Samba, audiences can expect powerful music, extraordinary athleticism, festive presentation and unforgettable moments on the dance floor.

The Saturday evening finals will form one of the highlights of the weekend, with guests able to experience world-class DanceSport from premium seating and ringside hospitality options. Corporate hospitality packages will also be available, including festive dining experiences designed for companies, partners and guests seeking a distinctive pre-Christmas celebration.

Following the Saturday finals, the celebration continues at Bassit Bar at Thon Hotel Oslo Airport, where dancers, coaches, officials, spectators and supporters can gather for an after party with a DJ and a true Norwegian Christmas season atmosphere.
